Autonomous ModulDim modular home with solar panels and energy storage

In development · not a ready product

Autonomy

We are exploring a future energy, water, climate and safety system. There is currently no ready, validated specification or launch date. ModulDim’s first pilot is a standard-design home without autonomy.

01Critical loadsFirst, we define what must always work 02Required backup durationWe calculate the scenario, not buy a battery at random 03Unified controlSystem status is clear to the homeowner, not just the engineer

Control over dependencies

Autonomy does not mean living without the world. It means staying in control.

The grid can remain the primary source. But the home is prepared: it knows what to support during an outage, what reserves are available, how to protect water and heating, and when to alert the owner to a critical condition.

Future product concepts

Three scales. One engineering approach.

The class is determined not by the desired number of batteries, but by the number of buildings, critical resources, power requirements and the system's responsibilities.

Four building systems

One home. Four interconnected systems.

Choose a system to explore how it works. Equipment and feature availability depend on the specific project configuration.

Energy system

Keep what really matters powered

The home separates critical and non-critical loads, uses the available source and shows the actual remaining backup time.

Resilience levels

Not everyone needs off-grid. Everyone needs a clear scenario.

The level is defined not by the number of gadgets, but by which functions the home must maintain, for how long and under what external conditions.

01

Basic resilience

Short outages do not stop everyday life

  • Essential lighting and connectivity
  • Building systems protection
  • Emergency alerts
Entry level
02

Managed comfort

The home maintains its own priorities

  • Automatic backup
  • Energy and climate monitoring
  • Critical load management
For everyday living
03

Enhanced autonomy

Longer periods without external resources

  • Extended energy reserves
  • Generation and water reserves
  • Remote status monitoring
Subject to calculations
04

A specialised scenario

A remote or challenging site

  • A tailored resource balance
  • Redundancy for critical components
  • A dedicated operating procedure
A separate project

Preliminary configurator

Define the brief for engineering calculations.

The result is not a quotation and does not promise a specific capacity. It helps distinguish essential needs from unnecessary equipment before the first technical discussion.

01What must your home withstand?
02For how many people?
03Which systems take priority?
04What must always work?

From an idea to a working system

Calculations first. Equipment second.

This avoids two extremes: an expensive system nobody uses, and inadequate backup that fails precisely when it is needed.

The scenario comes before the specification

First, we understand how the home will be used

People, the site, occupancy patterns and critical functions provide the inputs for the engineering design.

No magic or fine print

We distinguish a possibility from a promise.

Available now

The home and basic building systems

Architecture, structure, utilities, climate solutions and the production workflow are agreed for each project.

Concept stage

Backup and additional systems

Solar generation, storage, water reserves and automation are possible development directions, not currently available packages.

In development

One AI OS for the home

We are developing an integrated digital system for operation, service, resources and the owner's interaction with their space.

Before a technical discussion

The essentials

Do I need complete energy independence?

Usually not. It is more practical to protect critical functions first, define the required backup duration and only then decide whether full autonomy is justified.

Why not simply choose a ready-made kit?

Two homes of the same size can have different consumption profiles, household sizes, water sources, climate conditions and backup requirements. A universal kit either costs too much or fails to do the job.

Are solar panels included as standard?

No. ModulDim currently has no ready, validated solar-equipment offer. A future system requires engineering calculations, a cost estimate and specialist testing.

Can I control the systems from a smartphone?

This is possible with suitable equipment, but ModulDim has not launched its own validated control package. The interfaces on this page are concepts.
